Come pick small cranberries or marshberries with us! !!!

Saturday November 7 – Free activity  

The ACFSJ invites you to join us to (re)discover the small cranberry, or marshberry, which grows on rocky terrain. These berries ripen at the end of October and are even more juicy and sweet after the first frosts.

  • Date : Saturday November 7, 2020
  • Hour : 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
  • Or : Middle Cove Beach
  • Who : Family activity (all audiences).
  • Trail: 20 minutes of walking on a path which sometimes passes near cliffs and climbs steep slopes.
  • Take away : Good hiking shoes, warm clothing, gloves or mittens, buckets or other containers, a nut-free snack and a bottle of water. 

Note: We ask all participants to watch the course video in advance to best judge whether this course is suitable for all members of your family.

Note: Due to Covid-19 health restrictions, we cannot offer shared snacks, but we invite you to bring your own snack and we will take a break during the activity to rest and eat.

Small Cranberry Muffins

1 cup oatmeal
1 cup all-purpose flour¾ cup brown sugar½ tsp. tsp salt
1 C. baking powder½ tsp. baking soda
1 cup vegetable oil 1 cup natural yogurt
1 cup small cranberries
Heat the oven to 400°F/250°

and prepare a mold for 12 muffins using paper or silicone molds.
Mix all dry ingredients in a large bowl.
Add the vegetable oil and yogurt to the bowl, and mix gently. Add the small cranberries without stirring the mixture too much..
Bake the muffins for about 25 minutes, or until lightly browned.
