History of the choir “La Rose des Vents”
The French-speaking choir was founded between 1977 and 1981 under the direction of Tom Fagan, before taking a hiatus in 1992.
It was only in 1996, four years later, that the president of the Francophone Association, Andrée Thoms, requested Jacques Chollet to revive a French-speaking choir. He led the group until 2002.
From 2002 to 2008, the choir was successively directed by Christine Liautaud, Johanne Devlin Trew, Claire Wilkshire, Laura Soucy, Liz Hamilton And Michelle Hartery, in collaboration with Domenica Daley.
The year 2008 marked a turning point when Claire Wilkshire took over the leadership of the group. It was during this period that the choir adopted the name it bears today: "The Wind Rose".
