THE FILM
To be or not to be Sami, directed by Hervé Magnin, is an immersive documentary exploring the culture and identity of the Saami people, an indigenous community in the Arctic region. Through personal accounts and an immersion into their daily lives, the film addresses the contemporary challenges the Saami face, including the preservation of their language, traditions, and connection to the environment. It also highlights their resilience and cultural richness.

The evening will continue with a question and answer session, the opportunity to discuss the themes covered and share your thoughts on the importance of cultural identity.
WHO IS HERVÉ MAGNIN?
Hervé Magnin is a multi-talented French artist: filmmaker, writer, musician, actor, and visual artist. Passionate about human stories and identity issues, he explores the themes of resilience, cultural diversity, and transmission through his works. An adventurer at heart, he has traveled the world to meet people and stories that inform his work.
