Come and pick small cranberries or marshberry with us!
Saturday, November 7th – Free activity.
We invite you to join us in discovering the small cranberry, or marshberry, which grows on rocky terrains. These berries ripen in late October and are even more juicy and sweet after the first frost.
- Date: Saturday, November 7th, 2020
- Time: 10am to 12pm
- Where: Middle Cove Beach
- Who: Family Activity
- Trail: 20 minutes of walking on a trail that occasionally goes close to cliffs and goes up steep slopes.
- Bring with you: Good hiking boots, warm clothes, gloves or mittens, buckets or other containers, a nut-free snack and a bottle of water.

Note: Due to health restrictions related to Covid-19, we cannot offer shared snacks, but we invite you to bring your own snack and we will take a break during the activity to rest and eat.

Marshberry Muffins
Makes 12 muffins1 cup oat flakes1 cup all-purpose flour¾ cups brown sugar½ tsp salt1 tsp baking powder½ tsp baking soda1 cup vegetable oil1 cup plain yoghurt1 cup marshberries.
Preheat oven to 400° F/250° C an prepare a 12-muffin tin with paper or silicone baking cups.Mix all dry ingredients in a large bowl.Add vegetable oil and yoghurt to the bowl and stir gently.Fold in marshberries without mixing too much.Bake muffins for about 25 minutes, or until lightly golden in colour.
